Arrests in timeshare sales scam
It seems it never ends - one upfront fee company after another comes to the forefront with the latest scam.
A company known as Timeshares Unlimited and two men associated with same, scammed at least 1,150 people around the country, out of an estimated $350,000.
One of the men was already in jail for drug charges.
The state attorney general's office in Florida has arrested the two men, ages 26, and 24 and they are being held on a $100,000 bond.
The two men face up to 60 years in prison if convicted.
The ruse continued for years.
Such companies prey on the fact that most people simple don't believe that someone will bold-faced lie to them when asked direct questions, but alas, these type of people will do it without a second thought.
Advice, use only a licensed real estate broker to sell your timeshare, and only if their commission is payable from seller's proceeds at close of sale.
