The term “RCI pure points” is a bit of a misnomer.
There is no such thing as an “RCI pure point”; RCI only has RCI Points.
But the term pure points does serve as a useful way used in the industry to distinguish between the TYPES of timeshare plans sold at various resorts. There are plans connected to a deeded resort with maintenance fees, versus the type of ownership we sell – – Florida Vacation Villas Club’s pure points program which does not have a maintenance fee. Traditional deeded RCI Points owners have:
1. A limitation to the maximum number of points that can be added. The cost to add a point is 2 cents per point.
2. The maximum number of points that can be added at 2 cents per point, is limited to no more than 1/2 of the number of points owned. For example, if a traditional owner owns 50,000 annual RCI points, the maximum number of additional points that can be added would be only 25,000 points.
Contrast that to Florida Vacation Villas Club’s RCI pure points plan where there is absolutely no limit to the number of points that can be added, and the price per point is only 1.5 cents per point.
